Festival format – so forming pools of players based on entry rather than traditional weight categories.

BJC NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
May 4th Kettering
The BJC proudly presents the annual BJC Open National Championships. This event, is open to members of the BJC, BJA & AJA of appropriate grade and age. This includes categories to allow for as wide a range of age, grade and weights as possible. You can find full details on our Event Information leaflet which is available by pressing the button below. Please note, closing date for entries is Wednesday the 30th April at midday.
The BJC Open Nationals Championships will include:
• Primaries 8-9 years of minimum grade 3 red bars (3rd Mon) or above
• Juniors 10-15 years of minimum grade 2 yellow tabs (5th Mon), grouped by weight & age.
• Kyu Grade Seniors 16+ of minimum grade 4th Kyu (orange belt) or above grouped by weight & grade.
• Dan grade Seniors grouped by weight & grade.
• Over 100 categories
• Open to the BJC, BJA & AJA
Once you have registered your entry (using the buttons below) you will be directed to PayPal to make payment with either PayPal or your credit/debit card. You can also make payment with a credit card by phone to BJC HQ on 01692-580900. The closing date for all entries and final payment is Wednesday 30th April 2025
After registering your entry, you will have until 12pm midday on Wednesday 30th April where you will be able to amend your entry (eg. change weight category), add additional entries or remove entries from the list (and be refunded). No further changes will be possible after midday on Wednesday 30th April. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS TIME.

A: Seniors novice – 5th kyu
B: Seniors 4th – 2nd kyu
C: Seniors 1st kyu+ (point scoring)
C: Veterans 30-44 years, novice – 2nd kyu
D: Veterans 30-44 years, 1st kyu+ (point scoring)
E: Veterans 45+ years, novice – 2nd kyu
F: Veterans 45+ years, 1st kyu+ (point scoring)

Eligibility
All competitors must be aged 8 years to 15 years on the day of the event and hold a FULL valid BJA membership or affiliate – (introductory memberships are not valid for competition) which must be produced at time of registration and weigh-in.
Ensure your competitor has graded and has competitive experience.
Categories
A: Under 12 Orange Belt and Below (players aged 8-11yrs)
BJA U12 Restrictions will apply
B: 12-15 years, Blue Belt & Below (players aged 12-15yrs)
No Armlocks or strangles permitted

Method of Competition
Pools. Pools/Crossover where appropriate.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to combine or alter categories should entries dictate. Considerations of grade, weight and age will be considered where possible. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Tournament Director will be final.
Registration & Weigh In
Section A – Weigh in – 8.30 to 9.00am contest starting approx. 9.30.
Section B – Weigh in times will be confirmed after the closing date by Facebook & email
All competitors MUST present themselves to the weigh-in wearing competition acceptable judogi trousers and a plain white round neck t-shirt/rashguard for weigh-in and competing. Weight allowance of 0.8kg
Medals
Gold, Silver, Bronze, Bronze.
In a pooled weight division, judoka must have won a contest to receive a medal.
General
Photographs may also be taken for promotional purposes including publication on club websites. By completing an entry form you indicate your acceptance of these conditions and parents (in the absence of any expressed objection) provide their consent to the taking and use of photos/videos. NO Flash photography. The event is run in line with BJA Child Protection Policy
The wearing of BLUE & WHITE judogi is not compulsory at this event. However White judogi is priority.
Players area requested to bring their own Blue & White Belts
The decision of the Tournament Organiser is final. NO JU-JITSU SUITS ALLOWED
